Say no to jet lag[1] Luckily, science provides us with ways to control the many biological and environmental factors that can help us avoid jet lag. There are several factors that determine how your body interprets its environment and help your body clock decide whether it is time to sleep or wake. Called zeitgebers[4] (pronounced "zite-gay-bers"), the activities and inputs that help the body adapt to its environment (in this case a new time zone) include diet, bright light, exercise, drugs, and social interaction. Adjusting zeitgebers before and during travel can help reset the internal[5] clock to the time zone at your destination more quickly and easily.
