First Lady May Write Memoir

More than two dozens books have been penned about the first lady. Now, Hillary Rodham Clinton says she may do one on herself.

　　Mrs. Clinton’s memoir would likely include the tumultuous time she went through during her husband’s trials for impeachment. “Many others have imputed thoughts and feelings to me and I’d like to have chance to sort my own out and to share those and to talk about what it’s been like, the highs and the lows of being part of history as I have been,” the first lady said in a radio interview Tuesday.

tumultuous： 喧嚣的, 动乱的；这里指的是克林顿因性丑闻爆发而险些遭到弹劾的那一段时间。
impeachment：弹劾。
impute to：转嫁给；希拉里认为人们把他们的想法和感情强加给她，这次她要写一写自己的真实故事。

“I’m going to reflect on that. I probably am going to write about it,” she said. Mrs. Clinton, elected this November to represent New York in the U.S. Senate, has faced a great deal of both praise and criticism for the way she handled her personal life.

　　Many people said they believed she was wrong to stay with her husband after learning of his affair with a White House intern. “That’s another issue that I would probably like to put into my own words so that people could make their own judgments about it,” Mrs. Clinton said.

White House intern： 白宫见习生；这个见习生就是莫妮卡·莱温斯基，克林顿绯闻案的女主角。
judgment：判断；人们认为希拉里继续和克林顿在一起是个错误，希拉里讲把她自己的想法讲述出来，让人们做出自己的判断。
