"Blair" sequel looks for actors

“布莱尔”续集 A casting breakdown[1] for the sequel to the Artisan Entertainment/Haxan Films' "The Blair Witch Project" has hit the streets[2], stating that the top-secret project is slated[3] to begin shooting Feb. 23 on the East Coast. "Seeking unrecognizable talent," states a casting note for the one-page breakdown, obtained Monday by The Hollywood Reporter. Artisan had no comment on the breakdown, and last week it told reporters that there was neither a specific writer attached nor a finished script for the sequel, which is slated for a fall 2000 release.

The breakdown lists five lead characters -- three women and two men, ages 19 through early 20s. "Nick Leavitt" and "Anna Casio" are described as seniors[4] at Boston College, living together. "Heather Arendt" is a Chicago native whose major life philosophy is, "when in doubt indulge." "Cotter Kaller" is an immature blue collar-bred state college student, and "Domini Von Teer" is described as an enigma, favoring black and a vague Gothic look. Joe Berlinger, repped by Innovative Artists and Industry Entertainment, is set to helm[5] the sequel.

1. breakdown：
分类、分析、细目。例如：a careful breakdown of income and expenses 一份缜密的收支细目分类。另外，从字面上就不难猜测出breakdown还有另外一个意思：（机器等）损坏、停止运转。Our car had a breakdown on the road. 我们的汽车在路上出了毛病。

2. hit the streets：
hit 在美国口语中有“出现、被刊登在、被发表”的意思，因此hit street常常指某项计划、某个消息、某作品被公布出来，出现在街头小报上。台湾和香港则更直白地就称之为“出街”，这样说也别有一种味道。

3. slated：

4. senior：
本意是“（年龄、地位、资历等）较高的、较长的”，但这里特指（四年制大学中）大四的学生，junior是“三年级学生”，sophomore是“二年级学生”，freshman“新人”则是“一年级学生”了。记住了吗？那么你自己是freshman还是sophomore呢？

5.helm：
“舵”——船最重要的部分之一，起到控制航行方向的作用。因此，helm在这里做动词，就是有“掌舵、把握方向、控制、领导……”的意思。
