Beatles Still Rule UK
Thirty years after their breakup, the Beatles still have
the same chart-topping prowess as they did in their prime.
Their new collection of No. 1 hits, titled simply 1, went straight to
the top in its chart debut and sold more units in its first week
than any other U.K. release this year. Though the 27 songs on the album
are familiar to many.
breakup:
debut:
While the surviving Beatles — Paul McCartney, George Harrison,
and Ringo Starr — are no longer chased around by hordes of fans,
they are reportedly “dead chuffed” that people poured into stores
last week to purchase more than 300,000 copies of their album, according
to the BBC, which publishes the charts.
dead
