Dylan·Stern Win Top Music Prize

Dylan·Stern　　Singer-songwriter Bob Dylan and violinist Isaac Stern have won Sweden's Polar music award dubbed[1] the Nobel Prize for musicians. The international prize, awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, has been given to excellent musicians since 1992. It was established by Stig Anderson, manager of a pop group, through a donation[2] to the academy in 1989.

　　"Bob Dylan's influence as a singer-songwriter on the development of 20th-century popular music[3] is indisputable," the academy says in a statement. "Through his modest, persuasive musical approach he has demonstrated an impressive[4] power to question the most determined political forces, to fight all forms of prejudice, and to offer unflinching support for the less fortunate."

　　Dylan and Stern will be presented with their prize of 1 million Swedish crowns ($119,400) each at a ceremony in Stockholm May 15.

　　歌手兼词作家鲍勃·迪伦（Bob Dylan）和小提琴演奏家艾萨克·斯特恩（Isaac Stern）赢得的瑞典极地音乐奖，一项授予音乐家的诺贝尔奖。这项由瑞典皇家音乐学院颁发的国际大奖是从1992年开始向表现卓越的音乐家颁发。极地音乐奖是由一个流行乐团的经理--斯逖葛·安德森（Stig Anderson）创办的，他于1989年将一笔钱捐赠给了瑞典皇家音乐学院。

　　在瑞典皇家音乐学院的授奖声明中提到，“作为歌手兼词作家的鲍勃·迪伦对20世纪流行音乐的发展所起的作用是毋庸质疑的。他用质朴的、具有说服力的音乐方式，展示了一种感人至深的力量，来质问那些最决断的政治力量，同各种形式的偏见作斗争，并且坚定地支持那些不幸的人。”

　　在5月15日于斯德哥尔摩举行的颁奖典礼上，迪伦和斯特恩将分别获取100万瑞典克郎（相当于美金119，400）的奖金。
