Long-ailing Daewoo Motor Co. was officially declared bankrupt today after its hard-boiled labor union rejected a restructuring plan that calls for layoffs, creditors said.
　　“The union has refused to submit its consent to the restructuring plan. We can’t wait any longer. Daewoo’s bankruptcy has become formal,” said Yang Mun-suk, a spokesman for Daewoo’s main creditor, Korea Development Bank.

大宇汽车宣布破产

　　韩国大宇汽车公司的债权人今天宣布，长期惨淡经营的韩国大宇汽车公司由于工会无情的拒绝了他们提出的会引发工人下岗的重建方案而不得不正式宣布破产。
　　“工会拒绝接受公司提出的重建方案。我们不能再等下去了，于是大宇正式宣布破产。”韩国发展银行的发言人Yang Mun-suk说，发展银行是大宇公司最主要的债权人。
