Greenland

　　Greenland offers adventures of ice and snow like nowhere else[1] on this planet. The ice cap--- up to three kilometers thick--- covers an area 14 times the size of England. You'll experience icebergs almost everywhere in Greenland. Visiting the ice cap is possible from most towns in Greenland, although it usually takes a helicopter flight or a boat trip to reach the edge of the ice. In some places the ice cap is only 20 kilometers away and you can hike, drive, fly or mountain bike[2] there - and stay overnight if you bring a tent.

　　Greenland has no roads between towns. No railroads either. To get around in Greenland you have to fly. Flying in Greenland is a stunning experience. A chance to see glaciers flow between the mountains. You'll also have the chance of a helicopter ride to the ice cap. Look out the windows! And what a thrill!
　　Springtime is the best season for dog-sledge tours and skiing although Greenland also offers first class summer skiing on glaciers and dog-sledge tours in the summer. possible all year round. The dog-sledge driver is a fisherman or hunter who normally uses the sledge in this context[3] - to transport himself to fish (through a hole in the ice) or to hunt or to carry the fish or the seals back home.
　　 Greenland hosts several international events related to ice and snow; such as the toughest ski race in the world, the Ice Golf World Championships, and the International Snow Sculpture Festival. Temperature in Greenland is quite different from most other places in the world. 10-15 degrees Celsius feels very warm, while minus 10 degrees Celsius is equivalent to[4] a comfortable temperature. Because of the harsh climate, the number of Greenlandic terrestrial mammals is very limited. The stock consists of the polar bear, arctic wolf, arctic fox, lemming, musk ox, and reindeer.

1. nowhere else：没有别的地方。Nowhere是没有任何一个地方。可是还要把自己排除呀！所以要用一个else来排除自己。

2. mountain bike：山地车。意思从字面就可以看出来。但在这句话中它用作动词，骑山地车去...的意思。因为前面几个词hike、drive和fly都是动词。

3. in this context：原意是“在上下文中”，在这里引申为“在这种情况下”的意思。

4. is equivalent to：等于、相当于。通常口语中也常说成be equal to。
