　　我们都知道美国因其经济、文化等许多方面领先于世界各国，且工作机会多，成为许多国家的人们都向往的“希望之乡”。近年来，移往美国的人更是源源不绝。但与此同时，美国本国人也不断地移向国外。为什么会这样呢？那是因为，“美国梦”不是其本土就能满足的，人们需要更多的东西……

　　America has been a promised land of opportunity, attracting more than 900,000 immigrants last year from all corners of the globe. But the flow of people isn't exclusively inward. An increasing number of Americans are looking abroad for the chance to live the kind of life they don't believe is possible in the US. * promised：“有希望的”、“有前途的”等意思。美国因有较多的机会而成为许多人向往的“希望之乡”。

* immigrant：“移民”、“侨民”等。是指由外国移向本国的人。与其相对应，emigrant也表示“移民”，但它是指由本国移向外国的人。
* exclusive：“不公开的”、“专用的”等意思。这里是说不单单是外国人移入美国，美国人也向其它国家移民。
