PUERTO RICO'S MYSTERY MUMMY[1]

神秘木乃伊The body of a strange being-allegedly[2] not native to this world--is being hidden from the Federal government's eyes somewhere in Puerto Rico.

In the winter issue of Evidencia Ovni magazine, Puerto Rican ufologist Jorge Martín published photos of what appears to be a desiccated[3] humanoid[4], bearing some of the supposed [5]characteristics of the "Grey" type alien, but far smaller in size. These photos have been in existence since the early 1980s, when the bizarre[6] entity was allegedly shot by a rancher.

The mystery being has been kept in freezers for the past two decades, removed on one occasion to be photographed by one of the rancher's relatives. The rancher himself has refused to step forward or allow specialists to examine his prized possession out of fear that "the U.S. authorities would take action against him to cover up such of evidence."

1． Mummy：
木乃伊，大自然中不会腐化的尸体，干尸。最著名的是埃及的木乃伊，一般先切除尸体内脏，然后再用防腐剂处理并用细麻布将尸体裹紧。干尸可保存长达五千年。

2． allegedly：
根据（人们）宣称。比如：This is allegedly the case. 据说情况是这样。

3． desiccated：
原形是desiccate表示“使干燥，使脱水”，比如：The soil was desiccated by the sun. 泥土被太阳晒干了。

4． humanoid：
类人动物，尤指原人或科学幻想小说中的外星人。本文中还有一个表示“外星人”的单词：alien。它们之间区别不大。

 

  
 
 


波多黎各的神秘木乃伊

有人躲过联邦政府的视线而将一具神秘的木乃伊——据称是非地球生物的尸体——隐藏到波多黎各某处。

波多黎各的UFO研究学家乔治.马丁在Evidencia Ovni 这本杂志的冬季期刊中登载了几张“外星人干尸”的照片，它与传闻中“灰种”外星人的某些特征有些相似，只是体形远不及它们。这些照片早在1980年初就已经存在，据称这只怪物当时死在一个农场主枪下。

在过去的20年里，这具神秘干尸一直保存在冷藏室里，后来那位农场主的亲友将其运出拍照，但这位农场主拒绝透露更多情况，也不允许任何专家对他所珍藏的干尸进行科学研究。因为他害怕“美国当局会为了掩盖外星人存在的证据而对他采取行动”。

奇形怪状的，怪诞的。比如：He became increasingly bizarre in speech. 他言谈越来越古怪。
