F1的奇异结局 - 99世界十大体育新闻之四
F1's Fantastic Finish It wouldn't be a normal Formula One season without controversy[1] -- but 1999 was controversial even by F1 standards[2]. Ferrari's Eddie Irvine took the F1 lead[3] in October when he won the Malaysian Grand Prix[4]. After the race, Ferrari was disqualified for[5] a minor technical infraction[6], handing Mika Hakkinen the World Driving Championship. Or so it seemed[7]. One week later, Irvine was reinstated[8] as the F1 points leader after the sport's ruling body upheld an appeal[9] filed by Ferrari. As it turned out, it didn't matter[10]. Hakkinen responded by driving a brilliant race at the season finale in Japan to win the title over Irvine[11] by a mere two points (76-74).
