  Russians 'regain' key Chechen towns

v.重新控制。re是一个前缀，表示又，类似again。
2.concede:
v.承认，让步。带有一种勉强的意味。

　Fighting has continued in Chechnya for control of three key towns, which were attacked by rebels in surprise attacks over the weekend.
　　 The Russian military said on Monday it had regained control of both Shali and Argun, although it conceded the rebels still held the centre of Shali and had attacked the railway station in Argun. The rebels say they still hold the third town, Gudermes, and have killed up to 400 Russian soldiers.
　　 Russia's Defence Minister, Igor Sergeyev, vowed a merciless drive against guerrillas who used a holiday lull to inflict record losses on federal troops.


 

　
俄罗斯军队重新控制车臣战略重镇　
　　 在车臣，争夺战略重镇的战斗仍在继续。在上周末车臣叛军对几个重要城镇发动了突然袭击。
　　俄罗斯军方在周一说他们已经重新控制了Shali和Argun两个城镇，但也承认叛军仍然坚守在Shali城中心，并袭击了Argun的铁路系统。而车臣军队说他们还控制着Gudermes城，并且杀死了400俄军。
　　俄罗斯国防部长表示，由于叛军对联邦军队造成了严重损失，俄军将发动无情的进攻。
