　 A US federal appeals court has upheld a temporary injunction blocking Cuban shipwreck survivor Elian Gonzalez from being taken from the US.
　 The court ruled that the boy should be allowed to make a request for asylum and criticised the US Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) for not asking Elian himself.
　But it did not say whether in the meantime Elian should be reunited with his father, Juan Miguel Gonzalez, or whether he should remain with his Miami relatives.
　The court said the boy had requested not to return to Cuba, but the INS had not taken that into account.

埃利安被禁止离开美国
　　美国联邦上诉法院颁布了一项临时法令，禁止把古巴男孩埃利安带出美国。
　　上诉法院说埃利安应被允许请求一个庇护所，并指责美国移民与归化局根本没有问过埃利安本人。
　　但上诉法院未说明，在此期间埃利安是否可以与他父亲会面，或他可以留下来，与他的迈阿密亲戚一起生活。
　　上诉法院说，埃利安曾要求不回古巴，但美国移民与归化局未加理会。
