Stormy times ahead for delegates seeking ceasefire 谈判代表团面临重重阻力

　　The main players in the Middle East crisis have begun emergency talks in Egypt aimed at halting the slide towards war in the region.
　　Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and US President Bill Clinton have started a crucial summit in the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, which is seen as a last-ditch attempt to put an end to the violence in which more than 100 people - most of them Arabs - have died.
　　UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said the talks could not be allowed to fail, but there are widespread concerns that it will not prove possible to find common ground between the two sides.

中东和谈危机重重

　　中东危机的各方巨头已经聚集到埃及，试图阻止巴以冲突进一步升级到地区战争。
　　以色列总理巴拉克，巴勒斯坦领导人阿拉法特与美国总统克林顿正在风景城市Sharm el-Sheikh进行三方会谈，这次会谈被视为阻止战争升级的最后努力。在这些天的战斗中，已经有100多人丧生，其中大多数都是阿拉伯人。
