　　The European Commission is planning to approve the merger of America Online and Time Warner but block the tie-up between EMI and Time Warner, according to reports.
　　Although EMI has been confident that it had offered sufficient concessions to satisfy the authorities, a report in the Financial Times suggests that the commission still has doubts.
　　On the other hand, sources "close to the talks" cited by the New York Times say the commission will give the go-ahead to the AOL and Time Warner deal.
