　　Anna Kournikova will not appear for Russia at the Olympic Games in Sydney this summer.
　　Shamil Tarpishchev, the country's tennis chief, revealed that it was Kournikova's own decision.
　　"She said it didn't fit into her schedule. We had a spot open for her but she turned it down."
　　It is not the first time Kournikova has turned down the chance to play for the country of her birth.
