QUALIFIED TO TEACH YOU
Of course, all my life I've lived in Canada, I've travelled in
the US and in other English speaking countries. I've read all my
life. I've written a great deal of material, more in the form of
personal letters and essays. I'm very comfortable with the language
both in writing and reading. Speaking? I am getting better. You
would have to decide whether the speaking is OK. But the reading
and writing is... I know I am good at that. So, my expertise is:
Age, how old am I? And, experience.
The reason I understand quite well what is required from an English
language consultant is that... -I forget it because I did it all
my life- is my business was in a town that was an Italian speaking
town, all Italian, most of them could speak English too, not well,
but all of my employees, 80 percent at the beginning, were Italian.
Some of them could not speak English at all.
So, from 16 years of age to mid-forties, I was dealing with people
of another culture and language, all the time, from a management
point of view, me trying to communicate to them, them trying to
communicate to me.In important things, business, problems around
business, equipment, sales, whatever.
Our salespeople were Chin... Chinese... were Italian, our production
people were Italian. And sales and production and management, they
were all Italian. So I dealt with another language, all the time.
So I find it easy, really, to switch from Italian to Chinese.
