导言：　　在和新认识朋友聊天时，为了互相了解，经常会问一些比如："你是做什么的？""你家在哪儿？"等等之类的问题。此时，我们可以用以前学过的一些知识来回答对方，比如："I am a student.""I live in Beijing."。但如果你还想告诉对方有关自己的更多情况，比如：父母是做什么的，家的附近有什么建筑物时，会感到以前学过的知识已经不够用了。怎么办？一定很想充实自己这方面的知识吧！在本单元里，咱们会一起学习常用的职业名称和建筑物的名称；另外，上一个单元学的方位词将和本单元的知识点配合使用，这样我们可以更好地表达自己了。

A: What does he do?
B: He's a doctor.
A: Where does he work?
B: He works in a hospital.

A: Excuse me. Where does your sister work?
B: In s shop.
A: Oh! What does she do?
B: She sells shoes.

B: Yes, she likes it very much.

LI LEI: Where do you live in the USA?
BILL:Let me show you on the map. We live in a place called Gum Tree. Can you see Gum Tree? It's only a small village.
LI LEI: Gum Tree? Is it here --near the town of Ashland?
BILL: Yes. Ashland is a small town about eight kilometres from the city of Richmond. What about you? Where do you live?
LI LEI: I live in a tall building in the city of Beijing.

1、谈论工作的日常用语： What does he/she do? He/She's a doctor. Where does he/she work? He/She works in a hospital. Does he/she like his/her work? Yes,he/she likes it very much.
2、谈论家庭住址的日常用语： Where do you live? I live in a tall building in the city of Beijing. Where does he live? He lives in a tall building in the city of Beijing.
3、复习和学习方位的表达方式：（先说小地方，后说大地方）动词 do 的用法： 1)作实义动词： She does her homework in the evening. What do you do? I'm a worker.
2)作助动词，置于疑问句及其答语中： Does she like her work? Yes,she does./No,she doesn't. Where do you live? 也可用于否定句： I don't like living on the 12th floor. He doesn't use a lift. 惯用语： the town/city of... up and town out of...
