开头句型(1)

　　在写议论文时，你通常以什么样的方式开头呢？最简单也最常用的可能就是开门见山法。也就是说--直截了当地提出你对这个问题的观点，点出文章的中心思想，有一些句 型的搭配能力非常强，基本上可以用在各种话题的议论文中，想不想试一试呢？

　　透彻解剖：
　　in growing numbers 修饰people意思是：越来越多的人； increasing是increase的形容词形式，意思也是越来越多的；
　　significant 本来是"重大的，重要的"意思。in significant numbers "大量的"；
　　be aware that: aware是"知道明白"的意思。经常使用的搭配是be aware that (+从句)

　　这个句型的意思： 现在越来越多的人开始认识到……

　　举一反三：

　　1. Now people in growing numbers are coming to recognize a simple but powerful truth: we need each other. And we must care for one another. 　　
　　现在越来越多的人开始认识到一个简单而又强有力的真理：我们互相需要。我们还必须互相关怀。

　　点评：以这样的论点直切主题，引出全文，重点突出，十分有力。不仅句型值得学习，We need each other and we must care for one another这句话也值得背诵。克林顿在他的就职演讲里提到这一点，鼓励美国青年为国家做贡献时互相帮助互相支持。

　　2. Now people in increasing numbers are beginning to be aware that many of the stresses of modern life have come to be accepted because there seems no alternative.
　　现在越来越多的人意识到由于没有其它选择，因此，现代生活中的很多压力也就逐渐被人们接收了。

　　小收获：对于alternative你可能比较熟悉它的形容词形式，其实它还常常做名词用。意思是"选择"相当与我们常使用的choice。

　　3. Now people in significant numbers are beginning to realize that working mothers generally display greater enjoyment of their activities and relationships with their children. 　
　　现在很多人认识到上班的母亲们一般对她们的活动和她们与其子女的关系表现出更大的乐趣。

　　小收获：Do you enjoy yourself when you are on line.你上网的时候是不是感到很高兴呢？我们通常用enjoy来表达自己"高兴、满足"的含义。Enjoyment这里是个名词"欢乐"。妇女从家庭中解放出来的确对许多事情都会display greater enjoyment.因为她们认识到自己在社会上价值所在。下次要表达"对某事表现出更大的欢乐"不妨试试这个短语。
